Do pumps need regular maintenance?

Like all machinery with moving parts, pumps need regular maintenance. When Simonds Machinery Co. does maintenance, we check the system, oil and lubricate moving parts, and do any needed pump service & repairs. We also offer a maintenance program that provides regular calls from our tech so you can have peace of mind that your pump will always be in good condition.

What should I do if my pump won’t turn on at all?

First, check to be sure you have power to your pump. Once you can verify that you’ve got power, if your pump still won’t turn on, contact us to schedule a service call.

Will flushing feminine hygiene products clog a sewage pump?

Anything other than bodily waste and toilet tissue has the potential to clog a sewage pump. It’s best not to flush anything other than those items, as any other materials can clog the system.

How is retrofitting different from repair?

When your system is retrofitted, it’s essentially a refresh of the system that only replaces some of the parts, with the goal of improving overall system performance. Pump retrofitting retains the components that are still in good condition, while old or malfunctioning parts are replaced. In contrast, repair addresses a specific part or function that needs to be restored to working order. In some instances, we may recommend retrofitting if repair is insufficient to solve the problem.
